Free Task Dependency Chart - Visualize Relationships
Create task dependencies and see which tasks are blocked. Auto-organizes by dependency level.
Visualize how your tasks depend on each other with this free dependency chart. Add tasks, link them to show dependencies, and see which tasks are ready to start and which are blocked waiting for prerequisites.
Tasks are automatically organized into stages based on their dependencies. Complete prerequisite tasks to unblock dependent ones. Perfect for project planning, software development sprints, and complex workflows. All data saved locally.
Map the order of work
Add the tasks that make up your project, then identify which tasks depend on others being completed first. A dependency should describe a real prerequisite, not simply a preferred order. For example, a design may need approval before implementation can begin. Give each task a clear name so the connections make sense to someone who did not create the chart.
Review blocked tasks and prerequisites
The chart arranges tasks by their dependencies and helps you see which work is waiting on a prerequisite. Review the connections with the people responsible for delivery. Avoid circular plans in which two tasks depend on each other. If a task appears blocked unexpectedly, check its prerequisite links before changing the wider plan. Mark completed work accurately so that the remaining sequence reflects what still needs to happen.
Use the chart as a planning aid
Dependencies explain the order of work, but they do not by themselves describe resource availability or how long a project will take. Discuss ownership and expected dates separately when turning the chart into a delivery plan. The tool saves tasks in your browser, so it is not a shared project database or a backup. Keep a separate record of important project decisions and review the chart when the scope changes.
