Objectives: Define high-level, qualitative goals.

Child Objectives: Break large goals into smaller, aligned sub-goals.

Key Results: Define measurable outcomes for each objective.

Tasks: Drive execution by linking day-to-day work with strategic goals.

Alignment: Top-down visibility from company to individual.

Measurable Progress: Clear tracking of Key Results.

Transparency: Everyone knows what matters and how progress is measured.

1. Objective Creation

Company OKR

Type: Organization-wide objectives. Company goals are established by the leadership team in alignment with the organization’s mission and priorities. Every year, they convey the strategy that teams will support with their own goals.

Team OKR

Type: Department/project-level objectives. Teams create team goals to support company goals and goals from other teams.

Personal OKR

Type: Individual or small group objectives. Use the Personal OKR tab to find and monitor the goals you own quickly.

Assignee: Objective owner(s) responsible for tracking & updates.

Objective Name & Description:

  • Name: Short, inspiring statement of the goal.
  • Description: Context, scope, and strategic reasoning.

Time Interval:

  • Predefined → Quarterly, Half-Yearly, Annual
  • Custom → Select custom start and end dates

Visibility:

  • All → Visible to everyone in the organization
  • Restricted → Visible to specific teams or individuals

Measurement Options:

  • Based on child objectives’ status → Auto-calculates progress
  • Manual update → Owner updates status manually

2. Child Objective Creation

Child objectives allow breaking down larger objectives into smaller, actionable goals.

Fields & Options

Parent Objective: Must link to a higher-level objective.

Type: Personal/Team objective.

Assignee: Owner of the child objective.

Child Objective Name & Description: Provide specific, measurable focus under parent goal.

Time Interval: Custom (Start/End Dates) or Predefined (Quarterly, etc.).

Measurement Options:

  • Based on child objectives’ status → Auto-progress calculation
  • Manual update → Owner updates manually

3. Key Result Creation

Key Results make objectives measurable.

Fields & Options

Parent Objective: Every Key Result must be linked to a parent objective.

Assignee: The owner accountable for achieving this result.

Key Result Name & Description: Define the measurable outcome clearly.

Time Interval: Custom or Predefined duration.

Measurement Methods:

  • Manual Entry → Owner updates progress directly
  • Percentage (0–100%) → Track percentage completion
  • Numbers (Start → Target) → Track numeric change (e.g., 200 → 500 signups)
  • Binary (Yes/No) → Achieved or Not achieved
  • Based on Child Status → Auto-progress from linked sub-results

4. Linking Tasks to OKRs

Tasks ensure execution and accountability by connecting work with goals.

Link under Objective: Tasks directly aligned with the high-level objective.

Link under Key Result: Tasks tied to measurable outcomes.

Tracking Behavior:

  • Task completion → Contributes to Key Result progress.
  • Progress flow → Automatically rolls up to parent objectives.

5. Progress Tracking

Objective progress in Hidesc is dynamically calculated based on linked goals, measurable results, and tasks.

Objective Progress is calculated from:

  • Linked Child Objectives
  • Linked Key Results
  • Linked Tasks

Key Results update through:

  • Manual input by the owner
  • Automatic updates from:
    • % Completion values
    • Numeric targets
    • Binary (Done/Not Done)
    • Linked tasks progress
